What Time Are You?

On-site Experience Design

Proposal for an interactive clock installation in Hudson River Park. Made with Ping︎︎︎, Echo︎︎︎, and Song︎︎︎ during a class at SVA. My role was to design the on-site visitor experience.

Concept

Prompt

The prompt was to design an experience for a specific group of people in a public space in New York.

Our Focus

We were curious why some people were more likely to be late, or “forget about the time,” and concluded that everyone perceived time differently. To illustrate this difference, we designed a clock.

How It Works

While one side of the clock displays the actual time, the other side remains blank and invites people to enter their perceived time through an attached input device. Their input time will be displayed as an overlay on top of the actual time for 30 seconds.

Project Goal

With this clock installation, we hope people can sit down, relax, and feel their inner clock for a moment.
